Cocktail Watch Online New Hindi Movie

Gautam likes Veronica. Veronica likes him too. Gautam falls for Meera. Now what does Meera do? Three close friends find themselves caught in a vortex of emotions. Two's company; is three a crowd?
Homi Adajania's romantic comedy Cocktail is a slice-of-life film mounted beautifully and imaginatively on a large canvas with the vibrant colours of London, Cape Town and New Delhi. The film addresses the proverb--two is company; is three a crowd--situation throughout. With some super-light, sweet moments that one has seen in the mid-90s American sitcom Friends; that revolved around a group of friends in Manhattan; Cocktail deals with the fun moments and then the emotional turmoil faced by three Indian friends settled in the UK, whose paths cross inadvertently.
Saif (Gautam)-the flirt; Veronica (Deepika) the rich-bitch and Meera(Diana Penty)the simpleton find themselves under one roof singing daaru desi and dancing to tum hi ho bandhu in perfect sync and rhythm. To start of, the wild yet vulnerable Veronica and the shameless flirt Gautam are happy to be in a no-commitments relationship, providing laughs galore. Veronica's best friend Meera is also happy to be the flower wall around the house, making sure not to get in the way.
Written by Imtiaz Ali, the script in the pre-interval phase breezes through with some light-hearted camaraderie between the three lead actor; some comic moments (provided by Dimple Kapadia playing Saif's loud Punjabi mother); and has rocking tracks by Pritam that transport you straight into the night-club mode, singing and moving in your cinema-hall seats. However there's also a downside. For example, the music provides an adrenaline rush and the comic scenes make you smile; but there's a drastic drop in the tempo during some of the talkie portions, where the gaps in the conversation make you restless.
Also the friendship between the two girls—Veronica and Meera is captured realistically and runs deep; but the same cannot be said for the relationships the girls share with Gautam. While Veronica and Gautam's equation comes across as flaky; Gautam's love for Meera too could have translated into a deeper passion. The longing and the yearning doesn't come across like it did in a Jab We Met or a Love, Aaj Kal. In all fairness where Cocktail scores, is the fact that most of us living in urban metro India, will definitely be able to identify with the three principle characters and what the emotional upheaval that this bunch of friends go through. The bonding, the fun-filled moments do strike a very real chord.
The film takes a more serious turn in the second half when friendship makes way for love. Yes, Cupid strikes at the intermission point; and the film follows the oft-seen path of a typical triangular drama that has been a Bollywood staple through the last two decades.
Cocktail does have some terrific highs. One is Deepika Padukone's performance. Easily the best in her five-year-long career; Deepika also looks sensational throughout. You almost wish the camera had stayed her longer on her in that red itsy-bitsy bikini. DP will definitely win notices and nominations for her near-faultless performance of the rich-spoilt-neglected-girl-with-a-heart-of-gold.
Saif is terrific in parts, insipid in others. And the other DP, Diana Penty makes for a pretty picture; but she could certainly do with some polishing.
Randeep Hooda as a rake, running a hoax marriage business, is completely wasted.
Pritam's music is charged and chartbusting. While tum hi ho bandhu and daaru desi are right on top; yaariyan and jugni are stirring and soulful.
The dialogue is funny; even outrageous with lines like--`I'm carrying his bun in my oven' and `you're lonely-I'm characterless.'
However what Cocktail should be truly applauded for is its permissiveness. As a film it breaks shackles and ushers in a new free spirit that Gen-Now will relate to.
Tip off: Go see Cocktail with your closest friends. It will definitely strengthen the bond.

  6. Dabang jaise cheap (and non realistic) comedy dekhane se lakh guna acchha hai Cocktail. I could not watch Dabang even for 15 minutes, how come that becomes super hit??? Cocktail is good with it's next gen youth humour..which can be realistic in UK. All actors have done good job.

Though the promos looked really promising, the movie was a slight let down. I really liked Homi Adjania's first movie, Being Cyrus, but here he has done a poor job. The premise was excellent (exploring Gen Y relationships) but by injecting unnecessary melodrama the director and the scriptwriter messed it up. The last half an hour was unbearable. And to think that the director thought he was making a "realistic" movie. Yeah, right! Amongst the actors, only Deepika has done a decent job (didnt really think she had it in her before this). Saif is getting old plus repetitive (he is playing an extension of the same character as in Hum Tum, Kal ho na Ho, Love Aaj Kal, etc - a flirt with a heart) and Diana Penty is too raw but still okay for a first movie i guess. The music of the movie was good though. For me, the high point. Overall, the movie was probably a 1.5 to 2 on a scale of 5.

  17. Nowadays, it seems that the more pathetic a Bollywood movie is the more it is loved by the audience. I seriously think about the taste of our audience who truly appreciate the most pathetic and crappy movies like Rowdy Rathore, Bol Bachan and now this nasal Saif's Cocktail. Indian cinema has some hopes in form of directors such as Prakash Jha, Vishal Bharadwaj, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap. They seem to be the only ray of light at the end of this dark tunnel.

A very ordinary movie with adult themes that is reflective of teenage life in UK but what has that got to do with employed grown up people like Saif in the movie. The lead actress is best seen exposing her body then showing acting talent. Overall, a waste of time and certainly not to be watched with kids. 6/10 for me.

A decent watch. Saif dancing to the tunes of Sheila ki Jawani and the aftermath of it is hilariously shot. I liked Diana's performance coz it's not easy to convey the emotions without having to speak much and she's carried it off well. Saif and Deepika's were there usual self. Overall a good watch.

  20. Horrible movie. I think Times of India needs to find a new reviewer because they have forgotten how to review and analyze movies. This is my second consecutive bollywood movie I saw based on the reviews. Will not do the same mistake thrice.

A good romantic comedy. deepika has first time shone as an actress. This is her best performance till now. diany penty was very good too. She was the sweet, quite, shy and introverted girl. It did not seem like her first movie. saif was the arrogant self obsessed flirt who played his part well too. It has good dialogues and is a realistic non slapstick comedy which the youth will certainly like

  24. New gal was horrible...she didnt know how to cry she dint knw how to laugh she dint knw how to dance...she knew only one thing how to keep quite...such an important character of movie spoiled by week acting, deepika overshadowed this new comer completely...but still i wud say there were some gud moments given by deepika and saif but tht was not sufficient...movie was gud in bits and pieces, really a week storyline. Disappointed big time!!!

  25. First half was gud, after that it was very predictable watt is gonna happen later, movie would have been good if there was some twist in the end. Saif was looking too old for this role.

  26. the right title should have been 'CONFUSION" instead of 'COCKTAIL' - all characters are confused throughout the movie including mother/uncle of hero and the fake husband ! even the music is loud & confusing ! Deepika is bolder in familiar territory & her lines are shocking & cheap - maybe a cameo by Sidharta Mallya could have made it more realistic ! Saif is miscast & struggles for this younger role.

  27. story was bit common! But each of them played their characters very well!Deepika was awesome! Fab! She rocked it! N eyah new gurl was very fantastic! :) music is really cool ! All over the movie was very good!!!

Flick serves you with a cocktail of modern day relationships, that might end up a little too expensive. Midst the lascivious and the libidinous there is space for some serious love, which dissolves into the trio's lives only to strangulate and complicate 'em, but then there is an element called friendship that stands above to carve out jovial ramifications. First half is flirtatious enough to tickle your funny bone and keep you glued but the pitfall lies in second half that becomes predictable and is mundane. The two DP's dazzle throughout but Deepika is mind boggling, perhaps her best act. Saif is Subtle Boman Irani and Dimple Kapadia are a surprise package. And the best part are the songs perfectly woven into the fabric of emotions displayed. "Daaru Desi", "Yaariyan", "Jugni", "Tumhi ho bandhu" gosh u'll definately hum one perhaps all !!
