O Particles of Dust of Karbala (Urdu Marsia)

Going to ziyaarat of Imam Hussain (as) has so many merits that hadith says that it is more beneficial than going for 1000 Hajj and umrah with the Prophet (saw). The blessed land that Imam Hussain (as) is buried in is a piece of Heaven and on the Day of Judgement, that piece of land will rise to the sky; the dust will brush off and reveal a sparkling land. Why else would the sands of Karbala be called Khake-Shifa, that when you eat it, it cures any illness? The sand itself is a blessing upon mankind. When we go for ziyaraat, we do not care about the gold that glitters around the shrine, because the real gold is what's buried under the earth which is Imam Hussain, Hadhrat Abbas and the Shuhada e Karbala. The blessed body of al-Hussain (as) is a great shafaat, that when the angel Futrus was stranded without his wings, Jibrael suggested him to touch the new born grandson of the Prophet, Hussain, as a cure. Imam Hussain (as) is the ark of salvation just as are all the ma'sumeen, but the ark of Hussain is more spacious and faster and this is why there is a large ship in front of the shrine of Hussain.

Advent of Last Prophet on Earth 1 (Mercy for All Creatures)

New Software Free To Open Youtube and Urdu Movies Site
Muhammad [pbuh], the Master of Prophets, was born in Bani Hashim lane in Makkah on Monday morning, the ninth of Rabi‘ Al-Awwal, the same year of the Elephant Event, and forty years of the reign of Kisra (Khosru Nushirwan), i.e. the twentieth or twenty-second of April, 571 A.D., according to the scholar Muhammad Sulaimân Al-Mansourpuri, and the astrologer Mahmûd Pasha. [Muhadarat Tareekh Al-Umam Al-Islamiyah 1/62; Rahmat-ul-lil'alameen 1/38,39]
Ibn Sa‘d reported that Muhammad’s mother said: “When he was born, there was a light that issued out of my pudendum and lit the palaces of Syria.” Ahmad reported on the authority of ‘Arbadh bin Sariya something similar to this. [Mukhtasar Seerat-ur-Rasool, p.12; Tabaqat Ibn Sa'd 1/63]
It was but controversially reported that significant precursors accompanied his birth: fourteen galleries of Kisra’s palace cracked and rolled down, the Magians’ sacred fire died down and some churches on Lake Sawa sank down and collapsed. [Reported by Al-Baihaqi, but Al-Ghazali didn't approve it - see Fiqh-us-Seerah p.46]
His mother immediately sent someone to inform his grandfather ‘Abdul-Muttalib of the happy event. Happily he came to her, carried him to Al-Ka‘bah, prayed to Allâh and thanked Him. ‘Abdul-Muttalib called the baby Muhammad, a name not then common among the Arabs. He circumcised him on his seventh day as was the custom of the Arabs. [Ibn Hisham 1/159,160; Zad Al-Ma'ad 1/18; Muhadarat Tareekh Al-Umam Al-Islamiyah 1/62]
The first woman who suckled him after his mother was Thuyebah, the concubine of Abu Lahab, with her son, Masrouh. She had suckled Hamzah bin ‘Abdul-Muttalib before and later Abu Salamah bin ‘Abd Al-Asad Al-Makhzumi. [Talqeeh Furoom Ahl-al-Athar p.4; Mukhtasar Seerat-ur-Rasool p.13]

Moon sey Ik Baar Lagaa Letey Jo Maula Pani (Urdu Marsia)

Imam Hussain (A.S.) in View of Intellects, Philosophers and Orientalists
Edward G. Brown, a professor of Arabic and oriental studies at the University of Cambridge, said a few words on the Master of Martyrs Imam Hussain: "... a reminder of the blood-stained field of Karbala, where the grandson of the Apostle of God fell at length, tortured by thirst and surrounded by the bodies of his murdered kinsmen, has been at anytime since then sufficient to evoke, even in the most lukewarm and heedless, the deepest emotions, the most frantic grief, and an exaltation of spirit before which pain, danger and death shrink to unconsidered trifles," reads page 227 of his book A Literary History of Persia.
72 of Imam's kinsmen accompanied him, and all were slain in the land of Karbala to achieve righteousness. He not only gave himself up but everything possible in the way of God, including his few months old baby Ali Al Asghar, and with unyielding steadfastness.
Thomas Carlyle (Scottish historian and essayist) explains: "The best lesson which we get from the tragedy of Karbala is that Hussain and his companions were rigid believers in God. They illustrated that the numerical superiority does not count when it comes to the truth and the falsehood. The victory of Hussein, despite his minority, marvels me!"

The Sun of Ashoor Will Say It All (Urdu Marsia)

The Day of Ashura  is on the 10th day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar and marks the climax of the Mourning of Muharram.
It is commemorated by Shi'a Muslims as a day of mourning for the martyrdom of Husayn ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad at the Battle of Karbala on 10 Muharram in the year 61 AH (in AHc: October 9, and in AHt: October 10, 680 CE). According to Sunni Muslim tradition, Ibn Abbas narrates that when Muhammad came from Makkah to Madina he saw Jews fasting on this day (for the Passover) and fasted on this day and asked other people to fast.
In some Shi'a regions of Muslim countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Lebanon, and Bahrain, the Commemoration of Husayn ibn Ali has become a national holiday and most ethnic and religious communities participate in it. Even in predominantly Hindu majority but secular country like India, Ashura (10th day in the month of Muharram) is a public holiday.

The Message of Karbala (Urdu Noha)

Salah is the practice of formal worship in Islam. Its importance for Muslims is indicated by its status as one of the Five Pillars of Sunni Islam, of the Ten Practices of the Religion of Twelver Shiʿi Islam and of the seven pillars of Mustaʿlī Ismaili Islam, with a few dispensations for those for whom it would be difficult. For those whom it is physically difficult they can perform Salah in a way suitable for them. To perform valid Salah, Muslims must be in a state of ritual purity, which is mainly achieved by ritual ablution, (wuḍūʾ), according to prescribed procedures.
Salah consists of the repetition of a unit called a rakʿah (pl. rakaʿāt) consisting of prescribed actions and words. The number of obligatory (fard) rakaʿāt varies from two to four according to the time of day or other circumstances (such as Friday congregational worship, which has two rakaʿāt). The minimal, obligatory rakaʿāt may be supplemented with acts that are optional but are considered meritorious.
For Muslims of the Sunni and Ismaili Mustaʿlī persuasions, obligatory salah is prescribed at five periods of the day. These are measured according to the movement of the sun. These are: near dawn (fajr), after midday has passed and the sun starts to tilt downwards / Noon (dhuhr or ẓuhr), in the afternoon (asr), just after sunset (maghrib) and around nightfall ('isha'). Under some circumstances ritual worship can be shortened or combined (according to prescribed procedures). In case a ritual worship is not performed at the right time, it must be performed later. Muslim doctrine permits ẓuhr (ظهر, "noon") and ʿaṣr (عصر, "afternoon") prayers to be performed in succession.

We are Hussaini with Khomeini Style (Hum Hain Hussaini)

A Chinese Muslim scholar says he has been deeply impressed by simple life-style and great personality of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic and the leader of the Muslim World. Ahmad al-Sharif, Imam of congressional prayers of main mosque in Zhejiang Province, made remarks after visiting simple residence of Imam Khomeini in historic district of Jamaran and highly luxurious Saadabad palace of deposed Shah (the ousted king of Iran).
The prominent preacher also praised the rich Iranian history, saying that Iran inherited a history and civilizations of thousands of years and has had maintained very close relations with the people of China.
Ahmad al-Sharif also appreciated the ongoing developments across the Muslim World, emphasizing that these movements must be directed towards befitting the Muslims.
He also noted that the scholars must adopt and resort to right and accurate methods and Islamic centers must be rightly used in order to preach and spread Islam.
Ahmad al-Sharif also reminded the significance of the holy city of Qom, saying it contains a lot of academic facilities and has produced a great number of intellectuals who can play a great role in introducing the precise teachings of Islam.
He also added that dozens of mosques and academic facilities are functioning in the Muslim-majority provinces of China.

Karbala is the Life (Karbala Rasm Nahee)

The theme of suffering and martyrdom occupies a central role in the history of religion from the earliest time. Already, in the myths of the ancient Near East, we hear of the hero who is slain but whose death, then, guarantees the revival of life: the names of Attis and Osiris from the Babylonian and Egyptian traditions respectively are the best examples for the insight of ancient people that without death there can be no continuation of life, and that the blood shed for a sacred cause is more precious than anything else. Sacrifices are a means for reaching higher and loftier stages of life; to give away parts of one's fortune, or to sacrifice members of one's family enhances one's religious standing; the Biblical and Qur'anic story of Abraham who so deeply trusted in God that he, without questioning, was willing to sacrifice his only son, points to the importance of such sacrifice. Iqbal was certainly right when he combined, in a well known poem in Bal-i Jibril (1936), the sacrifice of Ismail and the martyrdom of Husayn, both of which make up the beginning and the end of the story of the Ka'ba.

Urdu Noha Portal (Listen Nauha 2013)

Problem in Playing Video in Pakistan? Just Click and Follow!
Noha (نوحہ‎) is a genre of Arabic, Persian, or Urdu prose depicting the martyrdom of the Holy Imams. Strictly speaking noha is the sub-parts of Marsia. Nohas are usually poetry expressing the sorrow felt by Shia Muslims for their leaders.
Noha or Nuha is also an Arabic female name meaning "wisdom", as well as the name of a pre-Islamic Arab deity. Literally it is the plural of minds.
An Example
History of Noha
The Shia community is identified with its extreme dedication to and adoration of the fourteen immaculates of the House of the Prophet. The Shia culture and literature revolves around Ali's vicegerancy and Hussain's supreme sacrifice.
While the Shia literature and culture got its distinct identity the master craftsmen in the field of literature and poetry could evolve their works around the Tragedy of Karbala and the lives of the Great personalities. The Tragedy of Karbala has influenced the thinking of people in all times. Those men of letters who have produced works on the subject have produced masterpieces that it has given rise to a special branch of literature identified with Karbala.
Whenever any attempt was made to produce works in any branch of literature with reference to Karbala it emerged as a land-mark in that field.
In Urdu literature Soz ( elegies), Salams ( Salutations) and Marsias ( Requiems) play a major role in manifesting the tragedy and the supreme sacrifice of Karbala. It inculcates in the reader the feelings of sadness for the sufferers and abhorrence for the perpetrators of the extremes of hardship on the small group of Hussain at Karbala. The Nauha is one of the important branches of Karbalai literature which is a very effective tool for directly influencing the head and heart of the audience.
The way the poet gets deeply involved while penning a Nauha so too has the person who recites it to communicate the intrinsic thoughts contained in the poem with proper intonation and modulation of the words. The reciter of the Nauha has to present it with rhythm and at the same time he has to keep in mind that it doesn't sound like a song because singing is taboo in Islam. And if the rendering is flat it would not go well with the audience and all the efforts of the poet go in vain. This is why recitation of Nauhas is very difficult.
The Nauha Reciters have taken great pains in devising the tunes for the Nauhas in a very masterly way. They have succeeded in perfecting tunes which sound distinctly different from songs. The depth of feelings is reflected in the pathos infused into the intonations of the voice. This has been the spirit of the Hyderabadi Nauha.
The poets of the past who excelled in the field have been Naaji, Laiq, Masroor, Shoukat, Baqar, Ghayoor, Bismil, Hilmi. Even today the works of these great poets are appreciated.
The modern poets who have contributed to this branch of Urdu Poetry are Baqar Amanat khawni, Khawar Noori, Akhtar Zaidi, Sayeed Shaheedi. Mirza Adil Najmi, Rahat Azmi, Maqsood Javed, Zaki Bilgrami, Hijab Bilgrami, Rasheed Shaheedi, Mirza Fareed Baig. The nauhas of these poets are very popular. The main thing is that they have maintained the style of their predecessors in their attempts.
Anjuman Parwana-e-Shabbir specializes in rendering Urdu Nauhas. The tunes of the Nauhas of this group are very popular. Hadi Ali Khawn Muslim leads the group in the rendering of Nauhas. They have adopted both the local tunes and those from other centers,
There are some Nauhas which have been rendered in Hyderabad for a very long time. The words and tunes of these Nauhas are a cultural heritage of the people of this city. The introductory couplets of some of the Nauhas are copied here.
Doosri Ko Jo Shabbir aaye Karbala Mein
Kya Kahun Ranj Kya Kya Uthaye Karbala Mein
Shabbir arrived at Karbala on the Second,
How do I relate the tribulations he had tobear at Karbala!
Bula Kar Sab Ko Hazrat Ne Kaha Ai Karbala Walo
Hamen Darkaar Hai Thodi Si Ja Aye Karbala Walo
Hazrat ( Hussain) Summoned the People of Karbala and Said
We need a little place here O People of Karbala
Abbas Se Kahti Thi Yeh Fauj e Sitam Ara, Darya Hai Hamara
Behtar Hai Agar Aap Karen Isse Kanara, Darya Hai Hamara
The Army of the Aggressors Was Saying to Abbas, 'The River is ours!
It Would Be Better If You Keep Away From It. The River is ours!
For the Sham-e-Gariban there is a special Nauha which is very profound in its meaning and leaves a deep impress when rendered on that occasion. It very vividly describes the scene of the dusk of the 10th of Moharrum after the 72 members of Hussain's Party were massacred and the camps were ravaged and burned. The remaining members of his entourage, the women, children and his only surviving sickly son, Zain al Abideen, were huddled together under the open sky with no light and the stars emitting the dull light which makes only the silhouettes visible to the people around.
I too have the honour of doing Nauha Khawni. I have been setting Nauhas to tunes in the traditional style of our forbears. I have been selecting the Nauhas very carefully with particular reference to their contents. Some years ago it was the custom in Hyderabad that the Nauha Khawn would sit on the first rung of the Pulpit and his group would sit in two rows facing each other on the floor in front of him. After the Nauha Khawni was over the main Majlis would commence. The lines of the Nauha were repeated not only by the members of the group but even the other people in the Majlis would do it in low tones. The Nauhas would serve for warming up the gathering for the main items on the agenda of the gathering. After the Oratory of the main speaker the Nauha Khawn and his group would once again render a few Nauhas appropriate to the occasion accompanied with chest beating by his group and others.

I am Mournful (Special in Muharram 2013)

Main Azadar Hoon (Marsia) I am Mournful (Special in Muharram 2013)
The events that took place on the tenth of Muharram in the year 680 changed forever the character of this month by making it a month of mourning, at least for the Shiʿa. On that date, Husayn—the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad and the third Imam of Shiʿite Islam—was brutally killed on the battlefield of Karbala. In this battle Husayn's sons, male relatives, and followers also perished. The women of his encampment were taken as captives to Caliph Yazid in Damascus. This tragic event overshadows any other event in that month. Husayn's ordeal started on the first of Muharram, when he and his party were intercepted by Yazid's troops, and continued even after his death, with the captivity of the Karbala survivors. Although the tenth of Muharram (known as Ashura ), is the actual date of Husayn's death, the mourning has been extended to cover the whole month.
For the Shiʿa, the Muharram tragedy of Husayn is the greatest act of suffering and redemption in history. It acquired a timeless quality, and, therefore, apart from the yearly Muharram observances, the Shiʿa continually try to measure themselves against the principle of the paradigm of Husayn whenever they regard themselves as deprived, humiliated, or abused. In fact, one of the main slogans during the Islamic revolution in Iran (1978/79) chanted by the crowds or scribbled as graffiti on town and village walls was "Every day is Ashura; every place is Karbala; every month is Muharram." This same slogan was intoned on radio and television and was graphically depicted on posters and even postage stamps during Iran's eight-year (1980–1988) war against Iraq.

Hajj Special 2012 (Pilgrimage Affairs)

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. The five pillars are:
Faith - Faith entails believing we should only worship the Creator of the Universe and not worship human beings, animals, statues, our desires, or anything else. Faith also entails belief that our Creator sent guidance of right and wrong via messengers such as Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and the Final Messenger, Prophet Muhammad. His message served to purify the guidance of the previous messengers from alterations made by mankind over the centuries. His message also provided a comprehensive set of divine laws for humankind, applicable to all situations for all times to come.
Prayer - Establishing prayer five times a day, serving as a reminder through out the day of our purpose in life: to worship our Creator.
Zakat - Mandatory charity given once a year by those who have the means. Voluntary charity is also heavily emphasized in Islam.
Fasting - Abstaining from food, drink, and sexual relations during the month of Ramadan, thereby developing characteristics of patience, self-restraint, and God consciousness.
Hajj - Pilgrimage to the city of Mecca for those who are financially and physically able. It is a spiritual quest of submission to God and purification of the heart.
The Hajj pilgrimage has its roots in the time of Prophet Abraham. He constructed a building in Mecca called the Kaaba with his son Ishmael as a center of worship for mankind. Since then, pilgrimage to this holy city has been occurring annually for thousands of years. The Hajj rituals are performed in the premises of the Kaaba.
The Prophet Muhammad said:
“Whoever performs Hajj solely for the sake of God and, in the course of it, abstains from sensuality and disobedience, he returns from there as immaculate as a new born child.”
Every healthy and financially able Muslim must undertake a pilgrimage to Mecca once in his/her lifetime. Hajj is comprised of several acts of worship to God. People of different nationalities, languages, and colors gather in the millions at Mecca during this time. The concept of one humanity upheld by Islam is explicit during the Hajj pilgrimage. It is a time when people have the same thought, carry the same prayer on their lips, and are uniformly dressed. There is no discrimination between master or laborer, black or white, elite or lowly, native or foreigner. This equality before God becomes apparent in the multitude of human beings that assemble for this holy pilgrimage.
