So Satan tried to kill always Prophets as They are the biggest symbol of Allah on this world , but Satan can not kill any Prophet but few.
so Satan also try to kill people who embraced Islam due to preaching of Issa , Jesus Prophet A.S
you will have read in Quran about the Groups of Pit  خندق والے
many Muslims were killed by putting them in pits full of fire , Satan was thinking if they will see fire they will be Apostate
but Allah is great , and who are His true followers , Allah must save them, so when they were put in pits which were full of fire Allah  Soul out and Allah saved them from fire and death which were full of torture
